Spintronics research at Chalmers aims to exploit the spin functionalities of electrons in graphene, 2D semiconductors, topological insulators and their heterostructures. The group develops novel approaches for nanofabrication and design new measurement techniques that lead to fundamental physics experiments. This experimental research consists of preparation of 2D materials heterostructures, device fabrication in "state of the art" cleanroom, and sensitive magneto transport measurements. This project will be carried out together with different national and international partners as a part of Graphene Flagship and FlagEra projects. These studies aim for a better understanding of the creation and control of spin currents in these novel electronic materials, and can pave the way to new nanoelectronic devices with spin functionality. Spintronics research aims for future generation of devices that could become non-volatile, versatile, fast and capable of simultaneous data storage and processing; with less energy consumption.

This is a full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of five years. The position will be placed in the Quantum Device Physics Laboratory, at The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience. The main research focus of the laboratory is on Spintronics, Quantum transport, Superconducting Quantum Circuits, Single Electron Transistor, Molecular Electronics, Superconducting Quantum Interference Device, Cold Electron Bolometer, and Oxide Electronics.
